Portion control and weight loss
There are a lot of ways to lose weight fast. Some diet programs focus on a specific food group but allow dieters to eat other food groups in controlled portions. Basically, all weight management programs work on one particular principle which is portion control.
Portion control is a weight management term to describe controlling the amount of calories that you eat. This is also synonymous to serving size. Here is a list of how much food is recommended by most of the diets mentioned above.

Instead of doing these cumbersome task, you can compare serving sizes of these foods to any familiar objects. Here is another list of how you would say the serving sizes of foods.
- ·Vegetables or fruit is about the size of your fist.
- ·Pasta is about the size of one scoop of ice cream.
- ·Meat, fish, or poultry is the size of a deck of cards or the size of your palm (minus the fingers).
- ·Snacks such as pretzels and chips are about the size of a cupped handful.
- ·Apple is the size of a baseball.
- ·Potato is the size of a computer mouse.
- ·Bagel is the size of a hockey puck.
- ·Pancake is the size of a compact disc.
- ·Steamed rice is the size of a cupcake wrapper.
The significance of serving sizes is that you control the amount of calorie that you take in the body. Controlling the amount of calorie helps your body to burn fat effectively. The lesser the calories that your body has, the more your body will be able to burn fat.
