The difference between men and women losing weight

In the world of losing weight, women usually lose weight differently than men and vice versa. For men, they can actually get away with eating too much and never have to worry about bloating whereas women need to be more careful when it comes to eating since they can gain weight almost immediately.

This is no rocket science. The thing here is that when it comes to weight loss, men can easily cheat their way into getting thin because their physiology allows them to lose weight fast. For instance, men have more muscle mass than women. For Weight Loss 101, high muscle mass means higher propensity to burn calories. Women, on the other hand, are designed to store a lot of body fat which is a necessary during pregnancy and breast feeding. Let’s put at it this way, if a man and a woman are asked to chow down a 500g serving of mashed potatoes, most likely, the woman will be the one to gain weight than the man.

So what can we learn from this idea? The fact that men and women have different physiology, it also follows that men and women should have different weight loss programs to address their weight issues.  In this case, women have to do more effort under normal routine exercises than men. Moreover, women have to be extra careful on the amount of calories that they take in.

Although losing weight and keeping it off is a struggle for both sexes, the one under pressure the most are the women. The thing is that for a woman to be healthy, she needs to eat a proper and well-balanced diet and to exercise regularly. Some women would resort to taking diet pills or any other regimen which bring them more harm than good.
